Innovation stands as a fundamental pillar in the field of design, equipping us with the capacity to confront and surmount complex social challenges. Much like athletes who engage in daily training regimens to maintain their physical prowess, it is incumbent upon us to exercise our creative faculties consistently. Whether this exercise takes the form of fashioning a practical handle, crafting a luminescent lamp, or conceiving the blueprint for an expansive urban space is immaterial. This diversity in the scale and scope of creative undertakings serves as a safeguard against the entrapment of the mind within narrow confines.
In our case, these creative exercises have taken the shape of collaborative endeavors, often involving the fabrication of practical objects such as lamps, table bases, and a myriad of other utilitarian devices. The genesis of these exercises was driven by a dual purpose: to tackle challenges inherent to the manufacturing process and to leverage these creations in our office projects, thereby synergizing form and function.
One of the creative exercises undertaken involved the design and fabrication of copper light fixtures. The primary material for these light fixtures was sourced from the Isfahan Bazaar, infusing the designs with local character and charm. The bases for these fixtures were crafted using straightforward molds, fashioned from copper belts or metal pipes. This hands-on exercise not only fostered creativity but also embraced local materials and craftsmanship, resulting in unique and artisanal lighting elements.
The shaping of these light fixtures was carried out within the studio using readily available templates. This approach allowed for precise and consistent design execution, ensuring that the final products met the desired specifications and design aesthetics.
The light source compartments of these fixtures were meticulously crafted in the workshops of the historic Isfahan Bazaar. This decision not only added to the authenticity of the design but also harnessed the expertise and craftsmanship of the local artisans, resulting in well-crafted and culturally resonant lighting solutions.
